On 13 May 2026, social enterprise cleaning company Tarem Services marked 27 years of using business as a force for positive social change.
Founded in 1999, Tarem Services was established with a clear mission: to tackle in-work poverty, particularly among cleaners and other blue-collar workers whose essential contributions are often overlooked. That mission remains at the heart of the company today.
Over the past 27 years, Tarem Services has combined professional cleaning and labour services with a commitment to fair wages, profit sharing, employee ownership, environmental responsibility, and community support. This approach reflects the belief that meaningful work should provide dignity, stability, and opportunity.
In 2024, Tarem Services expanded its social mission through the launch of its Mobile Foodbank initiative, which has already supported more than 2,088 individuals facing food insecurity.
While industries, communities, and the challenges people face have evolved over nearly three decades, one principle has remained constant: a commitment to putting people first.
Tarem Services is grateful to every employee, client, partner, and supporter who has contributed to this journey.
Twenty-seven years on, the mission remains as important as ever.
And the work continues.
