Tarem Services’ Mobile Foodbank has expanded its reach to Woolwich, providing much-needed community food support in partnership with Brookhill Children’s Centre.
Supporting Families in Woolwich
The first Woolwich distribution, held on 31 July 2025, supported 50 families, including three emergency walk-ins. Of those helped, 106 were children, highlighting the ongoing need for family-focused foodbank support in Greenwich, where child poverty remains among the highest in London.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Greenwich, Councillor Linda Bird, who praised the collaborative effort between Tarem Services and local partners.
Social Value in Action
This extension was made possible thanks to the social value commitments of our local clients, Christ Church C of E Primary School and Notre Dame Catholic Primary School.
Since launching, the Mobile Foodbank has supported more than 1,300 people in the areas we serve, bringing food essentials directly to communities impacted by the rising cost of living.
The initiative has already drawn positive attention within the community, you can read more here and here.
